Working Group Meeting: Aimé Césaire _A Tempest_, April 16 @ 6:00

Cesaire

Hi All! The Working Group will meet in East Hall 301, Tufts University, at 6:00 this upcoming Thursday, April 16th to discuss Aimé Césaire’s A Tempest. The Martinican poet/playwright/politician’s play rewrites Shakespeare to foreground Caliban as a decolonial figure, and we will be reading the play through our lens of Radical Kinship by seeking out ways in which Césaire’s play relates itself to and radically critiques both Shakespeare’s play and the intersections between aesthetics and anticolonial politics.
